I woke up in the morning at 3am. In fact it was too early than my usual schedule. I felt so fresh and did not want to go to bed again. I just went to my study room and turned the Bible. Today’s
passage was 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, which is one of the most difficult
passages in the whole New Testament. (for me) It is so because it holds terms
and thinking in pictures and sometimes there are utterly strange to us. However
the pictures that Paul wanted to convey to Thessalonians is about the second
coming of the Lord. I have been reading it for many years but again it appeared
to me as fresh.
It was quite strange sometime that we “know something,”
and just take it granted. However to “know something” carries an obligations
too. I rarely hear teachings on this. This is because we probably want to be
good to ears, or we find it difficult to share to others. It can be that we think
this is not so important to communicate to people. I think it is equally important.
That’s why Paul has mentioned it in his epistles using different images. Few
days ago, a friend of mine came and talked to a group of student, and we
discussed for some time. He told me how important it is for us to know these
things. Things are not fully revealed to us and it is all in the mystery.
However we can trace it whatever it is revealed in the Word of God through the
Holy Spirit. The word of God tells us how to walk and live our lives to glorify
Him during the end days. Looking the passages, one thing is sure that there is
a force of evil in the world. Our scientific logics may deny this fact but it
exists and works in the world. Another reality is that God is in control. Things
may seem to be crashing to chaos, but in some strange way every chaos is in God’s
control.
In the end, nothing can stand against him. Therefore a
great question is: On what side are you standing? Someone said that there are
two realities to which we all must cling. First, God has promised that you will
receive the love you have been searching for. And second, God is faithful to
that promise. Therefore, stop wandering around. Instead come home and trust
that God will bring you what you need. The only thing that matters is our choice.
Where do we want to go? Do we want to have the rest on God or still want to
fight of our own? The choice is up to us.
