What a Blessed Christmas

John is 25 and works at the jail in "A," that is connected to the prison. He has not got a chance to attend the church like we do. I have spoken to him once through Skype.  Most of you know that the evangelism is not an easy task in China. However, it was a privilege for John that he was told to present a Christmas party for the prisoners.  Nobody had ever done that before at that prison.  He asked my friend, David to help him. David gave him a few bible passages about the birth of Jesus and the prophesy in Isaiah.  Also told him to play some Christian Christmas songs and maybe give them some small gifts.  Well, John did all those things. He played “Silent Night” while he read Matthew 2 and Luke 2 and read from Isaiah 6 and 9.  When the bible was read to the prisoners, about 200 of them bowed their heads without being told to do so and folded their hands in a prayful manner. After the program many came up to him to thank him. John told them that a friend named David helped him with the program. His superiors were very surprized to see the party go so well and the reaction of the prisoners to the bible reading. John was also very impressed. He said that next year he should be able to give an even better party because he will have read a lot more bible before then.  Most of the prisoners should still be there too.
Remember that he is not born again yet. Nevertheless, he looks for the possibilities to share and sing during the Christmas time. How do we do when there are times and seasons of possibility to share the gospel to others? Yes, our small sacrifice can become a life time experience for rejoicing.  Pray that God will finish his redeeming work in John. He is looking forward to next Christmas at the prison.
