Daju! How are you?

19th December, 2012! I arrived in Nepalgunj early in the morning.  I, indeed was tired and exhuasted and thought to take a nap for some minutes.  But my wife insisted me to eat something before I took a nap.  Suddenly I remembered that I have to write an urgent e-mail.  At the same time, I accesed my facebook account and there was a message on my wall...MUCA....passed away yesterday night (18th December, 2012).

I was shocked and could not even believe. How can it be possible?  I wondered whether I was in the dream.  But I could not change this reality. Immediately I rang up brother Chula and Yashwant in Kathmandu. They were attending Muca's body at Alka Hospital. Everyone were down and mute as they could not even tell anything.  The postmortem report found that Muca had a respiratory problem.  The Indian Embassy made an arrangements to send the body to Shilong where Muca's parents live.

I met her in UBS in 2008 where we pursued our theological study together.  I vividly remember that It was the second day of our orientation class in UBS and Muca came and talked to me in Nepali.  I felt homely as I could see someone speaking Nepali too.  Well, she was brilliant in everything.  Her gestures and accents were far better than any Nepalis. She told me how she landed in Kathmandu and has been serving there in the school and the local church since then.  Gradually, we became close friends.  Not only in academic arena, she was brilliant in extra-curricular activities too, such as dancing, choreography and debates as well.  If you did not see her in library, probably she might not be well or, not in the campus.  She was a studious lady that i have ever seen. Yashwant writes in his facebook wall, "We do not realize the value of a person when he/she is around us but we value them when they are away from us." I think he was right. After our graduation, we scattered here and there.  I was surprised to know that Muka choose Nepal as her mission destination.  It was not easy for a young lady to decide such a hard/difficult decision.  Nevertheless she choose a difficult road for the Lord. She was content in the provision that she had.

In October, I went to Kathmandu to attend a three days workshop.  I rang her up and asked her whether I can have an accommodation in her guest house.  She was happy that I was arriving there.  We had a good time together and discussed a lot about the ministry.  I told her about an issue of illiteracy in the Church circle.  Furthermore we had a plan to start a teacher training workshop for the literacy teachers and start a literacy course in the church circle.  I remember her saying "Daju, would not it be a marvelous when our Didees could read the Bible?" Well, I can not question God's plan.  He is  in control.  It all seems that she had finished the race.  She fought a good fight.  "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7.

Muka! You were a great Missionary. You defended the faith.  Muca! you left a great legacy for all of us!
